Kevin Marchetti

Managing Director

As a Managing Director of Bay Grove, Mr. Marchetti is active in all day-to-day activities of the firm and is responsible for all investment decisions. His industry areas of focus are cold storage/distribution/logistics, consumer/retail, business services, and media. Prior to Bay Grove, Mr. Marchetti was an investor with Ron Burkle and The Yucaipa Companies where he helped invest and monitor over $3.3 billion of private equity transactions. While at Yucaipa, Mr. Marchetti also served as Ron Burkle’s principal for his non-fund-related transactions and sat on the board of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Mr. Marchetti started his career with Morgan Stanley in its investment banking group in San Francisco, where he focused on M&A and covering financial sponsors. Mr. Marchetti graduated from Duke University. He is a Director of  Terminal Freezers Holdings, LLC; Southeast Cold Holdings, LLC; and West Coast Cold, LLC, the holding company for Seafreeze Cold Storage, LLC and CityIce Cold Storage, LLC. He is also on the Board of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW).

Adam Forste

Managing Director

As a Managing Director of Bay Grove, Mr. Forste is active in all day-to-day activities of the firm and is responsible for all investment decisions. His industry areas of focus are cold storage/distribution/logistics, banking, energy/power, business services, consumer/retail, and industrials. Prior to Bay Grove, Mr. Forste worked at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (”KKR”), one of the world’s oldest and most experienced global private equity firms. While at KKR, Mr. Forste executed power-related transactions valued over $7.7 billion and evaluated deals in the energy, retail, and consumer industries. Mr. Forste started his career with Morgan Stanley in its investment banking groups, both in New York and San Francisco, where he focused on M&A and covering financial sponsors. Mr. Forste is a Fulbright Fellow and a graduate of Dartmouth College. He is a Director of  Terminal Freezers Holdings, LLC; Southeast Cold Holdings, LLC; and West Coast Cold, LLC, the holding company for Seafreeze Cold Storage, LLC and CityIce Cold Storage, LLC.

David Brandes

Managing Director

As a Managing Director of Bay Grove, Mr. Brandes is active in all day-to-day activities of the firm and investment activities. Prior to Bay Grove, Mr. Brandes spent over nine years at Shorenstein Properties LLC, a large real estate private equity firm that has sponsored funds totaling $6.7 billion. At Shorenstein, Mr. Brandes was responsible for sourcing, negotiating and executing capital transactions within the Western United States. During his time there, Mr. Brandes executed over 30 transactions worth in excess of $4.9 billion on behalf of the firm’s closed-end investment funds and various non-fund accounts. Mr. Brandes started his career with Morgan Stanley in its investment banking group in San Francisco, where he focused on M&A and covering financial sponsors. Mr. Brandes graduated from the University of California at Berkeley.

David Ross

Executive Director

As an Executive Director of Bay Grove, Mr. Ross is active in the firm’s investment activities, partnerships, and deal sourcing. Mr. Ross is an active entrepreneur and venture capital investor in new media, software, and cleantech companies. Prior to Bay Grove, Mr. Ross evaluated potential venture investments with  the media focused boutique investment bank Allen & Company as well as with family offices. Mr. Ross started his career in the media and Internet sector at an entrepreneurial venture that was founded to provide broadcast television and Internet service via satellite to the global airline and maritime industries. Mr. Ross graduated from Duke University.

Kristina Hentschel, CPA

Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations, Ms. Hentschel manages the firm’s accounting, financing, investor relations and administrative activities. Prior to Bay Grove, Ms. Hentschel served as the Executive Director of GirlVentures, a San Francisco based non-profit. She has also provided strategic planning, fundraising and financial consulting services to start-ups and multinational companies. Ms. Hentschel began her career as a CPA in Deloitte & Touche’s Real Estate Group in San Francisco and is a member of the Financial Woman’s Association. Ms. Hentschel holds a BBA in Accounting from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and has an MBA from the Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA Program.

Ed Lam

Associate

As an Associate of Bay Grove, Mr. Lam is active in the firm’s investment activities and portfolio company oversight. Prior to Bay Grove, Mr. Lam worked in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking group in Menlo Park. While at Morgan Stanley, Mr. Lam executed M&A and financing transactions valued over $9 billion for technology clients. Mr. Lam graduated from the University of California at Berkeley.
